Field Service Procedures During Warranty Period


THE STEWART-GLAPAT CORPORATION TAKES PRIDE IN THE EQUIPMENT IT DESIGNS AND MANUFACTURES AND OUR GOAL IS TO PROVIDE THE CUSTOMER WITH THE FINEST MATERIAL HANDLING EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE WITH TODAY'S TECHNOLOGY. EACH UNIT IS THOROUGHLY TESTED IN OUR FACILITY PRIOR TO SHIPMENT AND PACKAGED SO AS TO MINIMIZE THE RISK OF DAMAGE IN TRANSIT. STEWART-GLAPAT CORPORATION PROVIDES A THOROUGH MAINTENANCE MANUAL AND A VIDEOTAPE TRAINING AID AS STANDARD PRACTICE WITH EACH UNIT. WE ASSUME THAT YOU WILL JOIN US AS PARTNERS IN ASSURING A LONG PRODUCTIVE LIFE OF OPERATION FOR YOUR EQUIPMENT IN PROVIDING THE PROPER ORIENTATION AND TRAINING OF YOUR EMPLOYEES WITH RESPECT TO SAFETY, OPERATION, AND MAINTENANCE OF THE UNIT.

IF YOUR UNIT IS DAMAGED IN TRANSIT, IT SHOULD BE SO NOTED ON THE BILL OF LADING, AND THE CARRIER NOTIFIED THROUGH THE CLAIMS PROCEDURE. RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGE IN TRANSIT MAY BE DIFFICULT TO PROVE, UNLESS IT IS NOTED ON THE BILL OF LADING AT THE TIME OF DELIVERY. WE WILL BE AVAILABLE TO THE CARRIER TO ADVISE ON THE QUICKEST REMEDY TO THE PROBLEM.

WHEN PROPER TRAINING AND MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES ARE FOLLOWED, DOWNTIME SHOULD BE AVOIDED. HOWEVER, IF A PROBLEM DOES ARISE, YOU SHOULD CONSULT THE MAINTENANCE MANUAL FOR GUIDANCE IN THE ISOLATION OF THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM AND THE RECOMMENDED PROCEDURE FOR CORRECTING IT. OUR TECHNICAL STAFF IS AVAILABLE DURING NORMAL WORKING HOURS FOR TELEPHONE CONSULTATION IF REQUIRED BY YOUR MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL. IF A COMPONENT OR SUBASSEMBLY HAS FAILED, STEWART-GLAPAT WILL REPLACE THAT ITEM AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. IF THE PART FAILED DUE TO FAULTY WORKMANSHIP, IT WILL BE REPLACED UNDER THE WARRANTY PROGRAM. IF THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO MISUSE OR NEGLECT IN THE USER'S FACILITY, A CHARGE WILL BE MADE TO THE USER.
